THE SECOND QUARTER 2025 REPORT DRAWN UP BY THE FIE AND THE EFL
The assessment of the second quarter of 2025 of the fiduciary implementation of PDIC/REDD+ has been drawn up. Indeed, the Environmental Intervention Fund (FIE) organized, from July 9 to 11, 2025 in Koudougou, the second quarterly meeting of 2025 with Local Financial Experts (EFL) as part of the implementation of Integrated Municipal Development Projects for REDD+ (PDIC/REDD+).
The meeting participants are the 18 EFLs (Financial Controllers) in charge of the fifty-four (54) active municipalities. The FIE and the EFLs spent 72 hours reviewing activities, noting what worked well and what did not, identifying difficulties and taking steps to rectify the situation where necessary.
The meeting thus allowed each EFL to take stock of its intervention in the municipalities by reviewing the number of terms of reference (TDR) for the implementation of activities received; the TDRs targeted; those rejected, with the reasons; the number of markets registered and processed, etc. They also explained the difficulties encountered on the ground and proposed solutions were found for the successful implementation of PDIC/REDD+.
The participants developed an action plan (roadmap) for the rest of 2025, in twenty-two (22) points, followed by proposals and recommendations for improving the financial implementation of PDIC/REDD+.
At the end of the meeting, the amended version of the PDIC/REDD+ financial execution manual was presented to the EFLs to enable them to take the new standards into account in their interventions.
The closing ceremony was chaired by the Director General of the FIE, Delwendé Davy NANEMA. He expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration with the EFLs in light of the high quality of the work accomplished. He urged them to be advisors to the municipalities for the success of PDIC/REDD+, as this is a project that is close to the heart of the Ministry of the Environment, Water and Sanitation. Mr. NANEMA invited the EFLs not to hesitate to make proposals for better implementation of PDIC/REDD+.
